Wichita, KS (April 7, 2023) – Kansas Rush Wichita (KRW) and the board of directors are pleased to announce that the club has accepted an invitation to join the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) U21 for 2023. KRW, formerly known as Evolution Futbol Club, was founded in 2005. The club has a historical reputation of producing many of the area’s strongest female soccer players, with over 100 former KRW girls graduating onto college soccer in the past 10 years. Former KRW players have since been NCAA National Champions, college All-Americans and named to their respective hall-of-fame.
It is with great pleasure that KRW announces Kyle Eno as their first WPSL U21 Head Coach. Kyle came to KRW in June 2022 as a Director of Coaching as well as Director of Goalkeeping and a staff coach. "I am honored to be given the opportunity to lead Kansas Rush Wichita and such talented women. This team represents more than just a game, we are a symbol of progress, equality, and the limitless potential of women in sports. I'd like to personally invite you to join us on this journey as we make history and inspire generations to come," explains Kyle Eno, WPSL U21 Head Coach.
“We are extremely honored that the WPSL has invited KRW to enter their U21 platform,” said Adam Hunter, Technical Director. “For many years our club has produced an unmatched number of top college soccer females from the Wichita area. When looking at coaches to lead our players, the Rush Core Values have always been our guiding principles to lead us to the right individuals. The club has a tremendous amount of confidence the Coach Eno can exemplify these core values while leading our women and inspiring our youth.”
As well as a summer competition platform, the club has plans to use the WPSL U21 platform as an extension of its youth programming. The team will give younger players something to aspire towards and afford them the opportunity to work alongside college players. The U21 platform allows for a roster of players ranging in ages 14-20 years old with three “senior” players outside the age range. KRW plans to build a roster that will consist of a mixture of college and youth players. In addition, the club will reveal plans for a youth training program that is tied directly to the WPSL team.
Coach Eno explains the opportunity for the team to represent the club as a whole, "this team will not only be a representation of Kansas Rush Wichita, but also serve as role models for young girls in our community to fearlessly pursue their dreams. Together, we will work towards creating a culture of inclusivity and empowerment, both on and off the pitch. Our players now have an opportunity to train alongside some of the top college athletes from Wichita. We want to give every opportunity possible to our young players to believe in their abilities and develop into the best players they can be. We are now in a position where we can grow players from five years old all the way through pre-professional. "
